Groups and Activities
Mother's Union
The Branch was formed in 1908, to serve the Parish of Roath St. Martin.
Ladies from the churches of both St. Martin and the daughter Church of St. Cyprian became members of the Branch.
Both buildings had been used by Mothers’ Union until the bombing of St. Martin’s Church in 1941 when all Church activities were transferred to the daughter church.
Since 1958 the MU Office and Meeting have been held in the Lady Chapel and Vestry of St. Martin’s, monthly, on the first Tuesday usually at 2.30pm, but occasionally in the evening. The Office (Service) is central to our worship and underpins the aims and objectives of Mothers’ Union and often reflects on social issues of the world as well as our Branch personal prayers. Afterwards there is an afternoon programme: perhaps a guest speaker or an afternoon quiz and the inevitable cup of tea with a good chat.
Our numbers are steady at 36 Members, but a warm welcome awaits anyone who would like to join us.
Some Branch activities
Most importantly a true friendship among members supported at all times by our concern and help for each other.
